Buchanan Witnessed the Impact of Your Donations, Firsthand.

On Tuesday, October 20th, Buchanan Children's Charities visited the 32nd USC Magnet School in Los Angeles for a private band concert held by children that benefited from an Encore for Education donation. The donation enabled this school, as well as 7 others, to revive their school music programs and provide instruments for the children.

The students played “Fly Me To The Moon” by Frank Sinatra and “Thriller” by Michael Jackson. When asked by Buchanan's CEO, Robert Brunwick, why playing an instrument was important, one child answered, “Learning to read and memorize music has taught me how to remember things and be better in math and science.”

Recognizing that children's needs do not cease during these tough economic times, Buchanan made a $15,000 donation (made possible by Challenge for Children) which will save another music program in the LAUSD.

VH1 Save the Music Foundation is committed to creating systemic change in the American public school system by restoring music programs and raising public awareness about the importance of music participation for our nation’s youth.
