BUCHANAN CHILDREN’S CHARITIES PARTNERS WITH THE VH1 SAVE THE MUSIC FOUNDATION TO RESTORE MUSIC EDUCATION IN OUR NATION’S SCHOOLS
Los Angeles, CA (October 21, 2009) – On Tuesday, October 20th, representatives from Buchanan Street Partners’ non-profit organization, Buchanan Children’s Charities, and the VH1 Save The Music Foundation visited the USC Magnet School for the Visual and Performing Arts in Los Angeles, CA, to witness one of the many instrumental music programs their work has helped restore. Since 2007, Buchanan Children’s Charities has been a steadfast supporter of the VH1 Save The Music Foundation, reflecting their ongoing commitment to children’s charities and arts education. Continuing their mission and helping the VH1 Save The Music Foundation advance its work to ensure that every child has access to music education, Buchanan Children’s Charities has pledged an additional $15,000, which will be matched by The Foundation, to restore yet another full music education program in the next academic year.

Junior Achievement's Finance Park Program Teaches Students Life-Long Lessons Los Angeles, CA (April 2009) - Now more than ever, teaching young people the value of financial responsibility and monetary discipline makes VERY good sense. Buchanan Children’s Charities supports “financial literacy” as an important building block of a child’s future success in the world-at-large, and recently made a significant contribution to Junior Achievement (JA) of Southern California’s “Finance Park” initiative. JA Finance Park enables regional Junior High and High School students to be “adults for a day” and gain experience by simulating real life scenarios such as the creation of a household budget, paying down an auto loan and purchasing goods for their families. Not currently earth-shaking considerations for the average everyday 14 to 15-year-old, but nonetheless, decisions that are looming in their near future. |

Buchanan's Challenge for Children Raised $200,000 to Benefit Local Causes Newport Beach, CA (September 24, 2008) - More than 450 real estate professionals went head-to-head for Buchanan Children’s Charities’ 8th annual Challenge for Children Friday, September 12th at Newport Dunes in Newport Beach, Calif. A total of $200,000 was donated at this year’s multi-sport competition, which raised money for local children’s charities including Talk About Curing Autism (TACA) and Miocean, as well as Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) and Providence Speech and Hearing Center through the efforts of United Way. Each charity was presented with a $50,000 donation, which included a match by Buchanan Children’s Charities. |
